With the unified Featherweight championship on the line, Amanda Serrano is in a fit state to face her upcoming opponent Danila Ramos for 12 three-minute rounds this Friday. Although WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán initially objected to Serrano fighting Ramos for the same duration as their male counterparts, there is no longer an obstacle that prevents the two from breaking the barrier they’ve been longing to shatter for some time.
In this context, Serrano feels that with this fight of hers, besides making history, she will gladly prove to the world the incredibility that is characteristic of women’s boxing. As per her invigorating words, this fight is instrumental in helping female boxers not only achieve the same pay but also the same respect and recognition as the male boxers in the sport. In this connection, ahead of her groundbreaking fight with Ramos, ‘The Real Deal’ took to X and delivered a powerful statement.

Taking to X, Serrano shared a poster that confidently bore the heading – W̶o̶m̶e̶n̶’̶s Championship Boxing. For anyone who still missed the Southpaw boxer’s cry for equality, with the term “Women’s” crossed out, Serrano declared she was through with the label of “women’s boxing” which failed to recognize her as an individual boxer with her own skills and dedication for the sport. In addition, in a climactic and anaphoric statement, the 35-year-old reminded everyone that she was taking a stand for herself, women, Puerto Rico, and boxing. “Repost if you are with me!” she added.
Following Serrano’s post, a fan branded her a trailblazer who is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
“A Trailblazer is someone who doesn’t necessarily have the same opportunity, the same leg up as another person. A Trailblazer is somebody who has to pave that path for themselves… somebody who blazes that trail, and doesn’t look back.”-Ashley Allen, Founder, ITEquality

Likewise, one encouraged Serrano to keep making history. In their opinion, she “can defeat even McCaskill, Cameron, & Taylor.” In addition, they hoped Serrano, who earned Leonard Ellerbe’s praises, would fight “Baumgardner for all the titles“.
Keep Making history Champ. I Believe you can defeat even McCaskill, Cameron, & Taylor. & I believe your Mega Fight will be @Super FeatherWeight against Baumgardner for all the titles. You are the only one that could make those weights. You are humble but you are P4P the best.
