Ryan Garcia has been in a bit of a rough patch lately. From getting arrested to his social media posts, all have been pretty wild. It all came to a head when Shakur Stevenson and Keyshawn Davis called him out on Instagram Live. They confronted him over one of his controversial comments, making for a heated exchange. It seems like Ryan just can’t catch a break these days.
As it turns out, Davis and Stevenson weren’t exactly happy about the racial slur and Islamophobic comments Garcia made on X a while back. But hold on! That’s not the end. Stevenson and Garcia appear to have reached a decision regarding the weight class for their potential fight. Spoiler alert: Stevenson may need to bulk up.

Earlier today, Boxing Kingdom shared the clip in question on X, with the caption, “Ryan Garcia unleashing on Shakur Stevenson & Keyshawn Davis earlier today”. Davis was immediately on Garcia’s case as he probed him, asking, “Hey, why do you keep talking down to black people, bro?”
Not wanting to go down that rabbit hole once again, Garcia responded, “Everybody knows that wasn’t my thing. I am not gonna try to bring that up—Don’t try to start that narrative. I want none of that. It was stupid”. However, Shakur Stevenson wasn’t there for Garcia’s comments—what he wanted to know was when Garcia would fight him.
Interestingly, before Ryan Garcia defeated Devin Haney in April (the decision was expunged by NYSAC because of Garcia’s positive doping tests), the Victorville native told Stevenson that he would fight him next. So, the 25-year-old promptly responded, “Bro, I will drop you. I will make you s**t your pants”.

To this, Davis pointed out that Garcia was drunk, stating, “This n***a crazy. We can’t take them serious”. Regardless, Stevenson challenged Garcia to face him at 140-pounds, but the banned boxer retorted, “I will do it at 144”. Even though Stevenson seemed conflicted at first, he later said, “F**k it, I am with it n***a”.
Later in the call, Garcia reminded Stevenson, “Bro, I am banned in boxing”. To this, Stevenson questioned Garcia why he would cheat, but Garcia outright denied ever cheated. Despite Stevenson’s provocative questions, Garcia said, “Honestly bro, I think you are cool”. As it turns out, Stevenson echoed similar sentiments following their somewhat contentious conversation.
“I think you are cool too, but I still gotta whoop your a** though my boy”, Stevenson responded. Of course, Garcia couldn’t let this go unanswered, as he told Stevenson that he was welcome to give it his best. Regardless, both Garcia and Stevenson can forget about a fight if Garcia gets convicted on his prior encounters with the law.

The charge is a misdemeanor, which was reduced from felony vandalism because of the $400 damages he caused to the hotel room and hallway. Garcia’s arraignment is scheduled for August 7th, as he faces up to 1 year prison time. The Victorville native responded to this on X, stating, “No way I’m going to jail”.
Despite being sidelined from the sport of boxing, Ryan Garcia can’t seem to stay away from the limelight because of his actions outside the ring. But the million dollar question is, do you think Ryan Garcia will face Shakur Stevenson after his ban?
