Is Eddie Hearn more interested in profits than the well-being of his fighters like Anthony Joshua?

The rivalry between Eddie Hearn and Carl Froch is picking up steam. A few weeks ago, both got into a heated argument online when Hearn, in an interview, labeled the former super middleweight champion an “Anthony Joshua hater” during the Bivol-Beterbiev match week. The Matchroom Boxing honcho was responding to Froch’s reaction to the Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois fight, and the latter had criticized AJ a bit.

Froch even advised AJ to not get into an immediate rematch with Dubois as it could hurt him more. So, when Hearn called Froch ‘Anthony Joshua Hater,’ the latter responded with a fiery reply in an episode on his YouTube show. The Cobra called out his “banter” and stated he does not hate anyone. And decided to clear the air around his relationship with AJ.

In the latest episode of ‘Froch on Fighting,’ the Nottingham native revealed that he was one of the first people to reach out to Anthony Joshua after the Wembley fight which ended in a disastrous knockout of the former unified heavyweight champion. Froch stated that he was worried about AJ and had a long conversation with the latter. “Actually, after the fight, I am the guy that gone to him, messaged him, had a conversation with him, asking him if he is okay,” said Froch.

He then stated that he understood what AJ was going through at that time. As a former boxer, he knew how down Joshua might have been after the massive loss. “So, I reached down to Anthony Joshua. We had a good conversation,” said Froch before revealing that the London boxer called him a “mentor.”

‘The Cobra’ then called out Eddie Hearn and stated that the latter does not understand the mutual respect between boxers. “I don’t think Eddie Hearn understands the relationship that me and Anthony Joshua have got,” said Froch as he slammed the British promoter.

Notably, Joshua and Froch had a public fallout a few months ago. Things started when Froch leaked some of the messages he received from AJ, where he was criticizing the latter’s ability to handle pressure. These leaked messages created a lot of controversy online, but the duo settled their difference earlier this year. It was visible in Froch’s statement on the podcast when he stated, “We’ve got profound respect for each other because we are both warriors.”

The boxer duo might have reconciled, but Froch gave no inch to Eddie Hearn. He called out the Matchroom promoter for being greedy and not caring about the fighters in the brutal reply.

The 33-2 boxer stated that he does not want AJ to get into an immediate rematch because he is worried about the latter’s health. He does not care about the money in these fights, because all that is secondary. “I am more concerned about his health than how much money he is earning at the minute, said Froch, as he began to tear down Eddie Hearn.

He stated that Hearn is a promoter who only cares about how much money he can make from a boxer. The former champion then accused Hearn of not caring about his fighters and termed him as someone who does not understand boxing. He stated, “I am not the promoter taking the dough out of my fighters. I am the guy that is worried because I understand boxing.”

Even last year, the 45-year-old promoter called Froch a hater and got an instant reply from the latter. Froch mocked Hearn for not being able to take the banter. He stated, “I’m in front of the camera. You can see me. I’m smiling when I speak. When I take the pi** out of you, Eddie, I give you a bit of banter. It’s a joke… lighthearted…bit of fun,” while dismissing any profound animosity.

However, the fighter has constantly criticized the promoter for prioritizing business over the sport. We have not seen the end of this back and forth as the world is waiting for Hearn’s reply.
