People often see what they want to see! Something similar happened recently with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. Just the other day, the Baltimore native dumped some media on his Instagram account—a bunch of pictures and clips. However, what really caught the public eye was a particular photo of Davis.
Davis seemed to be sporting a new hairdo, with lush, long, flowing locks. Immediately, it went viral across all social media platforms, starting a frenzy among fans about it. However, in this chaos, a lot more Davis had revealed through the media dump went unnoticed. And Boxing YouTuber and commentator, Show Bizz The Adult is fuming about it, lashing back at fans for it.
A couple of days ago, Show Bizz hopped on YouTube to express his disdain with the boxing community for focusing on the wrong things from the media dump. “How in 13 hells and everything unholy did this go viral yesterday?” he asked about Davis’ new hairstyle. “How the hell did this go viral and not this [clip of Davis getting back to training for his next fight]?”

He highlighted that Davis’ new look went viral, “but not [that Davis is walking around 139.2 pounds].” Davis’ upcoming bout against Lamont Roach, which he said some time ago was canceled on social media, will unfold at 135 pounds. This means Davis is already getting closer to his weight goal for the fight, which is over a month away.

Frustrated by the response from the community on Davis’ hairdo, Show Bizz said, “I got DMs [from] people excited, saying, ‘I cannot wait for your video about this Bizz. I know you’re going to roast Gervonta. Well, the joke’s on you.” Furthermore, the commentator informed his fans that Davis’ new look is the exact same as his regular braided hairdo.
“Let me tell you something about black culture,” he started. “Due to our hair being very curly many times we straighten it before braiding it. This isn’t a new hairstyle, Gervonta is just in between braiding sessions.” He added that it’s healthier for the body to let the braids go sometimes and let the hair rest, noting, “You can’t just have it tightly cornrows 24/7.”
Show Bizz highlighted what fans should really have been looking out for. “That goes viral, but not confirmation that Gervonta is focus[ed] in the gym… Not confirmation that Gervonta and Calvin Ford [are] still together, not Gervonta is dedicated and on weight,” he said. “How did that go viral and not confirmation that the damn fight is still on,” Show Bizz lamented in his YouTube video.
Regardless, in the meantime, Davis continues to receive challenges from the biggest names in the sport.

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has issued a bold challenge to Gervonta Davis, expressing his readiness to face the undefeated star. Despite being 46 years old and having last fought in 2021, Pacquiao remains undeterred by the passage of time or the caliber of his potential opponent.
“I can fight anybody, even Gervonta Davis, I’m not scared of anybody,” Pacquiao told Seconds Out, reigniting speculation about his return to the ring. A former multi-division world champion, Pacquiao’s illustrious career has seen him share the ring with icons like Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya.
His last bout, a loss to Yordenis Ugas, suggested the toll of his legendary career, but Pacquiao’s fighting spirit remains intact. Whether this matchup materializes remains uncertain, but Pacquiao’s intent to compete at the highest level is clear.

That said, it appears people ignored the fact that Gervonta Davis has gotten back in camp for his upcoming fight despite claiming it was canceled a couple of weeks ago. They also ignored that Davis is 139 pounds with over a month left in the fight. Show Bizz is clearly not happy, but what about you?
