When Artur Beterbiev got his raised his hands and claimed all four gold straps at 175 for himself, the whole arena erupted into celebration. But there was one more face that enjoyed the sight of the Russian-Canadian fighter becoming the undisputed champion—Dmitry Bivol‘s ex-wife. The clip of Ekaterina Bivol, with a wide smile, happily rejoicing the maiden loss of her ex-husband, has been making rounds on the internet. And it seems Claressa Shields is unable to wrap her head around it.

Ekaterina is currently involved in a legal battle with her former husband over alimony and child support. What’s more? In the buildup to the fight between Bivol, 33, and Beterbiev, 39, she also supported the latter. So, when Beterbiev, at 21-0, won the fight, she could be seen on her live stream saying, “Artur, Artur! Karma caught up with him [Bivol]. Well guys, karma caught up with that as—le. Artur, Artur, I am happy for you. Now my fight is in court.”

This clip didn’t sit well with Shields, 29, as she expressed her opinion on it. She turned to her X handle and noted, “This some evil sh-t here.”

Bivol, at 23-1, now has to deal on two fronts, as he might have to plead his case with legal authorities, as well as he might have to look for claiming back his title. The possibility of a rematch is high, largely due to the controversial nature of the judges’ call and also due to the growing public traction in watching them turn back the clock. However, if the Tokmok native is to be believed,  it only depends on one factor.

Dmitry Bivol spills beans on the rematch with Artur Beterbiev

In a conversation with Marcos Villegas, Bivol disclosed his interaction with HE Turki Alalshikh. He also mentioned how the Saudi adviser believed he had won the fight and indicated his desire to book a rematch. But it all depended on whether Beterbiev and his wanted it.

Bivol declared, “He [Turki Alalshaikh] told me he thought that I won and wants to make the rematch for me. Now it depends on Beterbiev [if he wants it].” It remains to be seen whether the two will put pen to a rematch deal contract. The allure of an undisputed title and a huge payday remain the attractive factors to seal the deal. In addition, Beterbiev might want to brush aside the allegations of a robbery if they fight again.
