In her interview with Fight Hub TV, Claressa Shields didn’t hold back on her insights. “I’ve enjoyed watching Ryan grow over the years,” she began, acknowledging Garcia’s evolution in the sport. However, she quickly pivoted to the heart of her analysis. “It just seems like to me Devin Haney has had harder fights, he has had more challenging fights and he’s grown more,” Shields explained.
Shields elaborated, “I don’t know if I can say that about Ryan, so I just feel that it’ll be entertaining like you’ll see Ryan go out there and be flashy and throw his combinations and be sharp and long and stuff.” But then, Shields zeroes in on her prediction. “But I think that Devin is just a better boxer and he’ll be able to make Ryan run into some things,” she asserted.
Shields offers a conclusive thought. “And I think that it’ll be a unanimous decision for Devin.” With this, she wraps her analysis. Shields isn’t the only one who spoke about the bout, Abdullah Mason, who has sparred Devin, also spoke about it.

Abdullah Mason, sharing his insights on the highly anticipated Garcia-Haney fight, emphasized the crucial role of focus. “Whoever [is] more focused” will emerge victorious, he stated, highlighting the equal prowess both fighters demonstrated in their amateur days. “They went three and three in the amateur, although the pros [are] different. So, you can get it at 50/50,” Mason reflected.
Despite the difficulty in predicting a clear winner, Mason shared his current observation: “I could say right now, from what I’m seeing off of social media, you can never judge off that, but I’m seeing Devin looking a little more focused right now.” His statement, “Whoever [is] more focused on outside of the ring, so I think Devin, he focused right now,” leans towards Haney as the fighter with the edge in concentration.
