It seems nothing escapes the sharp eyes of Claressa Shields. The past few weeks saw the undisputed middleweight champion fending off virtual jabs from Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. For a change, her latest tweet finds her wandering sensors making their way past the Atlantic. They landed in the beautiful city of Cannes on the French Riviera.
It is the city of the rich and the famous. But across the world, it is known for the annual film gala. Cannes is currently hosting the 77th edition of the film festival. The yearly movie showcase commenced on May 14 and will conclude tomorrow. While the celebration of cinema continued over the days, a rather random incident coinciding with one of the events apparently grabbed some attention. It looks like Claressa Shields was among those who seemingly didn’t miss Kelly Rowland‘s scrap with a security official and her subsequent clarification. The two-time Olympic gold medalist returned to fighting this February with a mixed martial arts bout.

Probably Claressa Shields felt that Kelly Rowland was going to cry as she narrated her point of view. “She was holding back tears, bro smh,” said Shields, while commenting on the clip that featured Rowland talking to the media. “That woman knows what happened. I know what happened, and I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries,” said the former ‘Destiny’s Child’ member. According to her, despite the presence of many other women, ‘who did not quite look like her’, she alone was picked up only to be scolded and told to get lost. However, she decided to make a stand. The person in question also followed suit and dug her heels in, said Rowland. So what exactly happened?

Snapshots of the American singer-actress engaged in a heated exchange with one of the security personnel deployed splashed across. The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday when Kelly Rolland went to attend the premiere of the Italian comedy ‘Marcello Mio’. Dressed in a resplendent red dress, she appeared to be happily posing for enthusiastic photographers while walking down the red carpet. So it looked like a female member of the security detail had raised her arm behind Rowland as she started climbing stairs. Perhaps she was trying to clear the route and steer the Atlanta-born musician towards the venue.
The next sequence, when it looked like the lady security officer was speaking, only increased the confusion. It was difficult to make out to whom she was addressing—Kelly Rowland or her male colleague standing nearby. However, the award-winning American singer reportedly didn’t appreciate the event unfolding.
A couple of photographs show her talking to the person directly, with the index finger raised. It is still difficult to make out what precisely led to the ‘Say My Name’ singer taking an umbrage. Two days later, she went public on the matter, sharing her standpoint.
