Claressa Shields, the most decorated female boxer of all time is ready to face Danielle Perkins on February 2nd for the women’s undisputed heavyweight title. However, it looks like the GWOAT is in no mood to let her beef with Jake Paul die down this easily. A few weeks ago, in an interview with DAZN boxing, she claimed that she could defeat ‘The Problem Child’ easily.
A controversy erupted soon after as many fans started to criticize Sheilds for her take and an old resurfaced video of her getting knocked down by a man in sparring didn’t help her case either. However, the Flint native isn’t a bit fazed by criticism and in a conversation with ‘USA Today,’ doubled down on her claims while taking a new dig at ‘The Problem Child’.

Shields claimed that while a fight with ‘El Gallo’ is nearly impossible, she would love that opportunity. “I don’t know if it’s something that can happen, but I know that I can whip Jake Paul,” claimed Shields boldly. She further added that it is strange that fans are on Paul’s side rather than her after all she has achieved in the sport.
“It’s very strange to me that they think that a YouTuber can beat a woman boxer who has two Olympic gold medals, world titles and fought as a heavyweight,” declared the GWOAT. The 29-year-old acknowledged Jake Paul’s power and durability. However, she inserted a fresh dig at ‘El Gallo’ claiming that the 27-year-old has not improved much since his debut.
“He does not have the experience. They talk about power. You can have power, but you got to have the skills to land a punch,” stated Shields. According to her, with the skill that Jake Paul currently possesses, he won’t be able to touch her. “Jake Paul showed that he has not gotten better with his skills,” added Shields.
The women’s WBC heavyweight champion then shared the instance that might have started her beef with Jake Paul. She revealed how The Problem Child’s action forced him to issue a secret apology to the Flint native.

While the GWOAT did not mention it specifically, it looks like she still has not forgiven Paul for picking Savannah Marshall over her in their 2022 bout. The 29-year-old fought Marshall in October 2022 for the unified middleweight title. While the world was expecting another easy victory for the GWOAT, Jake Paul had other ideas.
The 27-year-old picked Marshall as his winner and it didn’t sit right with Shields. The 15-0 won the fight via a unanimous decision. She added the WBO middleweight title to her name and proved the YouTuber wrong.
In the same interview with USA Today, Shields revealed that after the fight, Jake Paul tried to contact her and apologize for his prediction. “(Paul) tried to apologize and all that other type of stuff after he picked Savannah to beat me in a fight,” revealed the 29-year-old. However, Shields made it evident that she is not interested in an apology and wants a fight to settle the score. “But f**k that apology. Fight me,” declared Shields unabashedly.
