In an exciting news, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant are said to have signed a contract for a super middleweight fight. As per the news, the bout shall take place in 2023. While Benavidez is 26-0, Caleb Plant is 22-1. Benavidez, a former two-time WBC world champion, has remained unbeaten since his debut in 2013. On the other hand, Caleb Plant has only one loss – that which comes against the Mexican Phenom ‘Saul.’

Caleb Plant, who formerly held the IBF super middleweight title, was undefeated till he fought Canelo Alvarez, last year, November 6th. Plant vs. Benavidez is an exciting fight as both the fighters hold an impressive resume and are still in their prime. As soon as ESPN Ringside made the news public, fans took to Twitter to express their personal views about the fight.

Fans have for a long time wanted to see a David Benavidez vs. Canelo Alvarez fight. However, the Mexican had different plans. Benavidez fought his last this year on May 21 against David Lemieux at Gila River Arena, Glendale. Benavidez won the fight via TKO.
