The Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders unification bout is slowly shaping up to be one of the biggest boxing fights in recent history. The champions have a history between them and will finally meet in the ring. Ahead of the massive collision, Chris Eubank Jr. has had his say on the fight.

The English boxer has shared fiery verbal battles with both Alvarez and Saunders in the past. However, having fought Saunders, Eubank Jr. has a better insight into this fight. As a result, the former champion is willing to bet £10,000 on Alvarez winning the high-anticipated bout, which has already broken records.

The 29-2 boxer spoke to TalkSPORT about Saunders’ chances and said, “Slim to none, Saunders is going to get hurt,” he added. “I’m going to be putting a £10,000 bet on Canelo to knock Saunders out. That’s what I think is going to happen; I think Saunders is going to get knocked out.”

This comment from ‘Next Gen’ showed his confidence in Alvarez and revealed his honest opinion about his old foe, Billy Joe Saunders. Despite ‘Superb’ Saunders beating Eubank Jr. convincingly when they met, the Englishman feels the WBO champion is no match for Canelo.

Betting a sum of £10,000 is a commitment that requires a lot of confidence. Especially when you’re betting against an unbeaten boxer who is a two-weight champion. So why is Chris Eubank Jr. so confident in Alvarez?

Next Gen’ explained his confidence. He claimed Saunders has not improved since their first meeting and added that Alvarez is levels above Saunders. Thus, ‘Superb’ has no chance of beating the P4P king.

Eubank Jr. opined, “I feel like he is the same guy; that guy can’t beat someone like Canelo. Somebody who is going to be successful against Canelo, you have to have a very different mind-set, a very different approach to the average boxer.”

This comment explained Eubank Jr.’s confidence in the self-proclaimed face of boxing. However, it will be interesting to see what Saunders has to say about this, given the history between the two punchers.
