Chaos has almost derailed Chris Eubank Jr.’s hyped April 26, 2025, bout with Conor Benn. A fight, reviving their father’s legendary rivalry, was supposed to be a defining moment of the duo’s career. However, in an attempt to sell the fight during the press conference, Benn flipped the script, alleging Eubank owes Neymar Jr. £4 million in poker debts from high-stakes games.
‘The Destroyer’ then further ridiculed the significance of the fight himself, claiming that it was just a pay grab for Eubank. Despite the IBO Middleweight champion dismissing it as “lies” on ‘X,’ the narrative has stuck. A subsequent brawl sparked by Eubank Jr. smashing an egg on Benn’s face only fueled the chaos further when the BBBoC fined Eubank Jr. £100,000 for the act. Now, as a result of the spotlight being off the ring and on his finances and gambling habit, the 35-year-old has finally decided to come clean about the accusations. Let’s hear what he has to say before the saga unfolds at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Chris Eubank regrets nothing
The IBO middleweight champion appeared in a recent interview with ‘All Out Boxing’ on YouTube. To no surprise, the interviewer started the proceedings by addressing the gambling debt accusations thrown his way by Conor Benn. “Do you owe Neymar £4 million?” the interviewer asked as Chris Eubank let out a chuckle.

Despite the aggressive nature of the question, the 35-year-old brushed off the intensity, delivering a sharp response aimed at critics and Conor Benn. “That is none of your business, my friend. That is between me and my good friend Ney,” he declared boldly. Clearly, Eubank hates how every conversation behind the fight has somehow become about his love for poker.
However, he regrets nothing and according to him, poker is the only thing giving him an “adrenaline rush.” To him, it’s more than just a hobby and he’s hooked on high-stakes games which he would continue playing. While he defends his hobby, his view of his rival remains a stark contrast.

Conor Benn deserved the egg-smash
Eubank sat down with DAZN’s Ade Oladipo, right after the chaotic press conference for an interview. During the conversation, insisting that he didn’t cross any lines, Eubank stood firm on his egg-smashing antics.
“During this whole process many lines have been crossed. I’m sitting on a stage with two of the scummiest characters in boxing. A d**g cheat and a man who did everything in his power to help him get away with it,” he claimed. The incident was a direct jab at Benn’s prior failed drug tests, with Eubank adding, “Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests. So I contaminated him with an egg.”

Chris Eubank Jr. believes that Conor Benn deserved everything and he did nothing wrong. “He deserved the embarrassment. If I had an opportunity to do it again, I would,” he declared. Even though Eubank has no remorse over his actions, he has already faced consequences. Eubank was found in breach of regulation 25 and as a result, he was fined £100,000 by BBBofC.
The constant back-and-forths have indeed increased the hype for this fight to the point where there is just too much animosity between the two at the moment. However, Chris Eubank Jr’s gambling habit is still the highlighting factor, something which both boxers didn’t expect. The only thing that can change the narrative is a good old violent and a great boxing match. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts down below.
