Former world heavyweight challenger Chris Arreola will return to the ring this weekend to face fellow Mexican-American boxer Andy Ruiz Jr. ‘The Nightmare’ has been among the top contenders for a while now.
Ruiz Jr. and Arreola will fight as the main event of an exciting card. The build-up to the fight has been around the former champion, and as a result, Arreola has somewhat gone under the radar. Therefore, we look at some of the interesting facts about the heavyweight.

Experts have spoken a lot about Ruiz Jr. and his physical transformation before this fight. However, his opponent still has a slight upper hand in terms of the physical aspects. Arreola stands at a height of 6’3” and possesses a reach of 76”.
In terms of weight, Arreola has consistently fought in and around the 240 lbs mark. Therefore, we expect him to be the lighter of the two fighters. However, he will have to use these physical attributes to his advantage if he wants to shock the world.

Arreola has been a professional boxer for almost 18 years. In this time, the Mexican-American has amassed an impressive 38-6-1 record. Out of his 38 victories, 33 have come by knockout, which gives him a 70% knockout rate.
Despite Ruiz Jr. being the former world champion, Arreola comes into the fight with more experience. He is 40-years-old and has challenged for the heavyweight title on three different occasions.

Another impressive stat about Arreola is that he started his career with an incredible 27-fight unbeaten streak. However, he will go into the May 1 bout on the back of two losses in his last four fights.
