The boxing realm braces itself for one of the most anticipated fights of the year. Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will enter the ring to demonstrate his boxing prowess against Jermell Charlo on the 30th of September. The fight will take place in all its glory at the infamous T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight has been the talk of the town ever since its inception for the underlying stories it speaks.
Alvarez will undertake this fight after his win against John Ryder after a striking unanimous decision. In the wake of his victory against Ryder, the Mexican fighter prepared for the clash against Jermall Charlo. However, the older Charlo brother pulled out of the fight citing personal reasons. Now, in pursuit of a headliner clash, Alvarez booked a fight against the other Charlo twin, Jermell. While most would predict the fight in favor of Canelo who sits comfortably in his weight class, a revered personality in the boxing world has sided with Charlo.

The coach moved apart from the majority opinion siding with Canelo. Roach underlined that a Canelo who fought Gennadiy Golovkin would potentially win against Charlo. But times have changed, and so has Canelo. Elaborating further, the star coach said, “If Charlo was fighting the version of Canelo before he fought Golovkin, I would favor Canelo. But that’s not the case. This version of Canelo will not be able to handle Charlo.”

While Charlo makes his debut in the 168-pound section, Coach Roach thinks the fighter will win the bout in a sweeping stoppage. He said, “And while both men can fight, I think Charlo will have too much firepower for Canelo to handle, especially at the higher weight. Canelo needs to stay away from Charlo’s left hook. The question is, can Canelo stay away from Charlo’s left hook? I don’t think he can, which is why I’m picking Charlo by stoppage. I can’t wait for this one.”
Charlo undertakes the biggest risk of his boxing career by going against Canelo. But he does so with much dedication and panache. Roach says, “He’s mean and defiant, and better yet, he backs that attitude up with his talent. He cannot be intimidated. He has a great chin and doesn’t get fazed by getting hit. Charlo is downright vicious inside the ring.”
The perfect underdog story?
With this fight, ‘Iron Man’ Charlo writes a story that will inspire fighters to come. The fighter will be going up two weight classes to compete against Canelo in the super-middleweight class. These efforts of his have earned him enough praise in the boxing space. Not only has he gone up the weight significantly, but he has also embraced the audacity to bring a crusade against one of the best fighters the industry has today.
