The heavyweight division is seeing a new rivalry brewing between the WBC interim champ, Dillian Whyte and Charles Martin. Over the past few weeks, the pair have taken wild verbal digs at each other, and Martin even called out the Brit for a fight.

However, Whyte didn’t quite entertain Martin for his call-outs. But that hasn’t stopped the latter from getting on the interim champ’s nerves. He still is pulling every trick out of the hat to crack up a full-fledged 12-round bout with Whyte subsequently.

Recently, ‘Prince Charles’ released a training video on his Instagram, wherein he called out ‘The Body Snatcher’ yet again. “It’s good to be back. @dillianwhyteboxer Let’s get it on” he wrote.

Martin has been inactive for a while. His last fight came in February 2020 against Gerald Washington. Here he claimed a stupendous T/KO win to put the hardcore boxing lovers in a frenzy. Moreover, the Missouri native might be thinking about elevating his stint by fighting anyone from the top-5 heavyweights.

That said, his attention is shifted to Dillian Whyte for obvious reasons. The British boxer holds the interim title and a fight against Whyte might put Martin in a colossal spot to battle out more rugged heavyweights. Also, if he fights and defeats Whyte by any means, he might land up with a probable shot towards the title.

However, ‘The Body Snatcher’ is firstly interested in fighting for heavyweight strap. And prior to that, he won’t look to fight anyone else. But looking at the messed up title picture of the big men’s division, it seems Whyte will have to take on anyone else in contention.

Dillian Whyte vs Charles Martin – Will it happen by year-end?

Until now, Whyte has shown no significant interest in fighting Martin.

But in order to make his chances even more viable for a title, the interim champ should give a thought about fighting the American boxer.
