Katie Taylor has jumped on the recent trend of ‘How it started’ vs ‘How it’s going.’ The undisputed lightweight champion of the world shared the post on her personal Instagram.

The trend has become very popular with people looking back at their beginnings. There have been several celebrities who have used the trend to look back on life before their success. Taylor did the same to reveal her first contact with her promoter.

How it all started for Katie Taylor

In the first picture, you can see Katie’s first message to Hearn. It is a Twitter DM that read, “Hi Eddie, I hope you’re well. I hope you don’t mind me reaching out to you like this out of the blue. I’ve been seriously considering turning pro the last few months.

“I think I could do, for women’s pro boxing, what I did for the amateur sport: bring it into focus and generate a serious interest. I already have a global profile and a great fan base. Of course, the pro game is impossible without a great promoter.

“So I wonder if you would be interested in talking more about this?”

Eddie Hearn replied, and the rest is history. It is clear to see that Hearn picked well. Ever since Taylor signed with Matchroom Boxing, she has taken over women’s boxing. She is one of the few active boxers to hold all 4 belts in the same division.

Taylor has done what she said she would. She became a global star in the sport. And is therefore an inspiration for many young female boxers in the world. However, from her own caption, it is clear to see that Taylor is not stopping soon.

Thus, it will be exciting to see what new highs Taylor can reach. It just goes to show how much can happen over just reaching out and seeking the opportunity. Katie Taylor’s next challenge is to defend her titles against WBO mandatory, Miriam Gutierrez.
