When regular folks have business disputes, they call their lawyers and battle it out in court. But YouTube star-turned-wrestler Logan Paul? He settles things the only way he knows how—by throwing punches! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, and let’s take a look at the situation from the beginning to figure out how Lionel Messi’s bodyguard got involved and ended up embarrassing Paul.
You see, the problem took root when the WWE star and co-founder of the energy drink Prime Hydration accused Messi’s MAS+ beverage of imitating Prime’s packaging and branding earlier this year. In retaliation to the lawsuit, the famous football player’s lawyers countersued Prime, alleging unfair competition from Paul’s company. And let’s just say, Logan didn’t like this move from the footballer.
Right after the countersuit, Logan Paul decided to hop on social media to address the situation in front of millions of people. He argued that Mas+ had copied their general design (shape, label, color scheme) while expressing frustration with the countersuit. In a video uploaded to several social media platforms, he questioned the fairness of the countersuit. Now, things would have ended there, and nobody would have cared. However, Logan Paul didn’t stop there. He suggested that Messi and he should settle their lawsuit in a boxing ring rather than the courtroom floor. Per his statement made in a clip, if the 37-year-old Inter Miami forward agreed to a boxing match in 2025, he would drop the lawsuit. But last month, Logan seemed to have backtracked on his claims while appearing in a vlog titled, ‘Messi made a big mistake.’

Speaking to his brother Jake Paul about fighting Lionel Messi, the Cleveland native said, “Bro, people really think I want to fight Messi because I made that video. Everyone’s like, ‘Of course, you want to fight someone retired and smaller than you.’It was a f***ing joke’.” When Jake suggested it would be a big fight, Logan Paul claimed he would the Agentinian soccer star with “both arms tied behind his back.”
While Paul clearly was faking his callout for some attention on social media, Messi’s bodyguard seems to have taken offense to the matter and called out the Paul brother to an actual fight. In a video shared by Happy Punch on X, Messi’s bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, who is a former MMA fighter, when asked about Logan’s callout of Messi, said, “Look, Lio doesn’t know who this guy is.”

“So if he really wanna fight, he can fight against me, not against a soccer player,” Cheuko added, while his workout partner chimed in, “You would destroy him.” It’s yet to be seen whether Logan Paul addresses Cheuko’s response. In the meantime, Dillon Danis is back, making headlines at the expense of Logan Paul.

He also suggested that Paul may have used his Prime energy drink partnership with the UFC as leverage, stating, “If you sign that kid, I’m pulling Prime.” Despite Danis’s claims, neither Paul nor the UFC has responded. Danis recently signed with the Global Fight League (GFL) and is set to fight Tony Ferguson in May after his boxing match against KSI on March 29.
