Devin Haney doesn’t think Ryan Garcia has suffered enough after the NYSAC served him a year-long ban, made him forfeit his purse winnings of over $1 million to Golden Boy Promotions, and fined an additional $10,000 after being found guilty of consumption of banned substance Ostarine ahead of their fight. Not to mention, Garcia’s win against Haney this March was also turned into a no-contest. Now, the 25-year-old fighter has filed another lawsuit in New York, alleging that Garcia is guilty of battery, fraud, and breach of contract.
“At no time did Devin Haney consent to engage in a bout against a boxer who was positive for a performance-enhancing drug, performance enhancing-procedure or masking agent and would not have proceeded with the bout had he known,” Haney’s attorney Pat English stated in the lawsuit.
The boxing community remains baffled by Devin Haney’s decision to sue Garcia for “battery”— a natural consequence of two men trading fists inside the squared circle. However, Haney’s past isn’t without its own controversies. ShowBizz The Adult, a well-known boxing commentator, reminded fans of an incident where ‘The Dream’ struck a man at a Southern California fair and fled as the man was beaten further by others. Well, in a hilarious rap video, the YouTuber emphasized that Haney wasn’t sued by the ‘Carnival guy’, even though it looked like a clear case of assault and battery.

In the viral rap video, ShowBizz humorously mocked Devin Haney’s actions: “Instead of the left, I should have thrown the right. Cause ninjas out there think that I can’t fight. Cause he should be knocked out cold as ice. Bro! As long as I don’t throw the one-two, you should not go on and sue.”
He further teased Haney by emphasizing that his punch at the fair didn’t even knock out the man: “Cause you know that jab did not hurt you. It didn’t hurt you. I did not throw the one-two.” Furthermore, ShowBizz The Adult hinted at the fact that Haney was more interested in suing people than working on the blatant errors in his fight strategy. “When I throw the jab, I pull back the right. It is the same flaw I have when I fight,” ShowBizz The Adult said mockingly.
The hilarious rap video resonated with boxing fans. Naturally, a raging debate also convened in the comment section about Devin Haney’s new lawsuit against Ryan Garcia. Safe to say, the former undisputed lightweight champion was picked apart in the comments.

Devin Haney Labeled “Soft” by fan
One fan stated that Haney needs to be sued by the man at the fair for assaulting him. They commented, “Carnival guy needs to sue asap and have Ryan backing him up.” The funny thing is Haney was seen on video footage fleeing the scene after hearing sirens in the vicinity.
Another fan felt that Devin Haney knew deep inside that he was outclassed by the Victorville native, and hence was resorting to lawsuits to take his revenge. They remarked, “I think Devin really knows he can’t beat Ryan and he fell some way about it. He can’t get it back in blood so he going the soft way about it.” However, recently, Bill announced that Haney is ready to take the rematch against Garcia provided he is subjected to proper drug testing, and the fight purse is substantial.

Meanwhile, another user labeled Haney as “soft” for filing the lawsuit against Garcia. They remarked, “I been saying for YEARS. The softest boxer in history.” Notably, Haney is now a “champion in recess” after he failed to step up and defend his super lightweight belt against the mandatory challenger, Sandor Martin after the Garcia loss.
This fan insinuated that Devin Haney might be past it, and therefore suing people to make “easy money”. They wrote, “He probably got knocked out in sparring recently and realized his career is over and want that easy money.” Regardless of the motivation, Haney’s actions haven’t been well-received by the boxing community, with some fans warning that his lawsuit sets a troubling precedent in the sport.
Meanwhile, one user hilariously commented, “Haney should sue carnival guy too!! his chin tested positive for Osterine the day after the fair!” What makes the lawsuit even more outrageous is that Garcia has already paid heavy penalties for testing positive for the banned substance ostarine.
