Jake Paul using the Carmel Police for a stunt—marketing genius or crossing the line?

Jake Paul is not just a successful YouTuber and a boxer. He is a serial entrepreneur too. Many brands that he has worked for or founded have benefitted from his creative marketing ideas. Now, the CEO of men’s personal care brand W, has come up with a funny promotional video to urge his fans to walk into a nearby Walmart store and grab the company’s new deodorant “W scent Wave Breaker”.

Sticking to the ethos of the brand, Jake wanted to give his flowers to the cops for doing their job, and being a bit lenient, probably! It seems like the former Disney star was not sticking to the proper safety measures and the Carmel Police Department had to pull him up for it. Still no clue right? Join us as Paul’s bold sea-faring adventure was met with a reality check.

Let’s set the scene: A shirtless Jake Paul surfing on the ocean—innocuous, right? Wrong! He is missing a crucial safety gear. Fortunately, three policemen, in a boat labeled “Carmel Police” in bold white letters, chase Paul down, reminding the Ohio native that he didn’t have a life jacket on. Paul looks into the camera and says, “They say I have to have a life jacket”. Ultimately, the cops in the speedboat catch up to him, and it looks like Jake Paul is in real trouble. That is until Paul pulls out the W scent Wave Breaker.

“I was actually on my way to Walmart to get the W scent Wave Breaker,” Paul tells one of the cops while spraying the deodorant on the police officer’s shirt. The law enforcement officer seems to like the scent and sprays some more on his armpits. The man behind the camera asks the cop, “How does it smell?” The cop responds by saying, “Smells great, wavy!”

‘Problem Child’ then wears the life jacket while remarking, “Coolest cop ever!” Paul then lets the cop “keep” the deodorant and jumps off the speedboat with the life jacket on. Guess, the smell was strong enough for the policemen to let him off without any penalties. A “W” for the cops and the Ohio native? You decide!

Another fan commented that Jake Paul would release another deodorant in a “Dutch version”. “Soon in Dutch version 😂👏,” the comment read. This is possibly a reference to Jake Paul’s beautiful Dutch girlfriend, Jutta Leerdam.

Well, a lot of people may not be happy with the cops’ lenient attitude toward Jake Paul, but one thing is for certain, they do smell nice! A fan, therefore, commented, “Best smelling Police award.”
