Canelo Alvarez recently faced Gennady Golovkin for their trilogy showdown. Alvarez was previously accused of doping in his fights. Meanwhile, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) released the doping test results of their recent fight.

Alvarez and Golovkin twice previously. The first match ended in a draw, while Alvarez won the second fight. Alvarez wished to avenge his light heavyweight loss against Dmitry Bivol. However, it was announced on May 24, 2022, that he will have a rematch with Golovkin instead.
Talking about his rivalry with Golovkin, he said, “It’s always been very personal with him. That will never go away. After we finished the two fights, it still feels the same.”
The duo faced each other for a trilogy bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, on September 17, 2022. While Golovkin showcased a great performance, the judges declared Alvarez the winner by decision.

In victory. he retained his WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles. The VADA recently posted on Twitter congratulating both Golovkin and Alvarez for successfully completing the doping test.
It was also reported that Alvarez had enrolled for year-round random testing conducted by VADA.

Canelo Alvarez was preparing for his rematch with Gennady Golovkin in 2018. This was also the time when he failed two drug tests. Alvarez tested positive for a drug named Clenbuterol.
