The pound-for-pound king of boxing, Canelo Alvarez wants to solidify his run at the super-middleweight division. This is principally why he’s rooting for resilient contenders. Alvarez will step into the ring on February 27 to defend his 168-pound straps against Avni Yildirim. Post that he’ll challenge ‘Superb’ for his WBO belt.
In December 2020, Alvarez crucified Callum Smith to cement himself at the most stacked division and will look to continue on his path of dominance.

Saunders has expressed his interest in competing with Canelo and seems like his dream is finally getting fulfilled. Moreover, this fight comes with extremely high risks and high rewards. ‘Superb’ has earned an enormous pot of gold, and he’ll look ahead to join Floyd Mayweather as the only men to beat the Mexican.
On the flip side, Canelo is in a league of his own. He makes sure he is a champion in every division he enters. He’ll be looking to get past Yildirim in his next bout, to capture Saunders’ belt on May 8.
Alvarez wants to remain super-active this year to compensate for his long in-ring-hiatus for 2020. If he succeeds in both battles, he’ll undeniably get aligned against Caleb Plant by year-end for the undisputed super-middleweight belt.

Saul Alvarez will be the toughest opponent in Saunders’ extensive boxing career. The Brit edges over the Mexican in height and reach, but underestimating the latter can create a tremendous problem for him inside the ring. However, both of them complement each other extremely well in terms of style.
