Ahead of his bout with GGG, Alvarez, in a statement, expressed his willingness to fight the current two-weight category world champion Oleksandr Usyk. Alvarez, as reported by TalkSport said, “It’s difficult, but I don’t care. I like that kind of challenge. It’s gonna be difficult, I know, but I love boxing. I love being in that kind of situation.”

On September 17, Canelo Alvarez will have a final showdown against Gennady Golovkin. The first bout was in 2017 and it ended in a draw. The second fight was just a year later and Alvarez snatched his win. In the month of May this year, Alvarez first expressed his desire to fight Usyk. Alvarez, over and over again, demonstrated his will to put himself in a hard place and try his skills out.
According to a report by ESPN, Alvarez fancied a fight with Usyk at a 201-pound catchweight. The Mexican phenom then had said, “I like it… Why not?… I’ll fight everyone. I don’t f—ing care.”
