Canelo Alvarez Ridicules Floyd Mayweather’s Power: ‘He Doesn’t Hit’

The super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez, talks about his experience with the legendary boxer, ‘The Best Ever’ Floyd Mayweather, in his recent interview. Moreover, he praised his skills but also mocks Mayweather’s power and addresses that “He doesn’t hit.”

Alvarez shared the ring with Mayweather in 2013, where Mayweather overshadowed him with his smooth skills. It was the first and the last time ‘The Cinnamon’ lost against anyone in the ring.

Almost a decade after the match, Canelo Alvarez was asked about his views on Mayweather in his recent interview with ‘Fight Hub TV’.

“Mayweather’s style is a style that’s very difficult. He doesn’t hit or anything, but it’s really difficult to connect. It’s hard to get a good fight, it’s hard to get a really good fight.”

He narrates Mayweather’s style, an unpredictable one, and it’s very tough to break in the defense. In addition, he describes Mayweather doesn’t hit hard, it’s just his technique that makes him win.

Alvarez also added, “Yes, I did learn a lot, and more than anything else, I don’t want to experiment with a defeat. I learned a lot, I learned a great deal of things and that is how I’ll keep going.”

Canelo Alvarez has some significant points on Mayweather’s boxing style. Being one of the hardest hitters, he couldn’t defeat Mayweather supports the fact that Mayweather is more aligned on the skill side than the power-hitting side.
