There are countless exciting boxing bouts that are yet to take place in 2021. And the Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant contest is one of the top fights on the list. The duo will take each other on for all the super-middleweight titles on the line, thus looking to register themselves in the history books forever.

The fans wanted to see this bout taking place once Canelo passed his last hurdle by vanquishing Billy Joe Saunders. It was one of his most terrifying wins at this weight class, which eventually lined him up for a bout with Caleb Plant. The official dates for this bout aren’t revealed yet.

But recently, Mike Coppinger reported on his Twitter pertaining to the fight draft being sent to the Mexican boxer by Plant’s team.

He wrote, “Sources: A draft contract has been presented to Canelo Alvarez for a Sept. 18 fight vs. Caleb Plant, a PBC on FOX PPV, as both sides continue to close in on a deal. Details still in the process of being finalized for undisputed 168-pound championship”

Canelo‘s ultimate aim was to fight for the undisputed belt ever since he stepped up at this weight class. Now that he’s bagged the first draft of this fight, the P4P king would anyhow look to make this fight happen. Because more than the belts, it is important for his legacy moving forward.

Speaking about legacy, the Mexican boxer has always looked to chase greatness. And this time too, he won’t be looking to leave any stones unturned in order to help him become an even bigger star in the game.
