During a recent media workout ahead of his fight against John Ryder, Canelo Alvarez gave a response that caught everyone off guard. When a reporter asked what present they should get Dmitry Bivol for his birthday, Canelo jokingly suggested a house as a big surprise present. The reporter then suggested he should say “surprise, surprise” just like Conor McGregor. However, Canelo took it a step further and responded with “surprise motherf**ker,” which left everyone laughing.

It’s worth noting that McGregor had previously used the same phrase after his rematch against Nate Diaz. He said, “Surprise, Surprise motherfu***r, the King is back”.

This becomes even more interesting considering the fact that McGregor has previously shouted out Canelo. Despite the similarity, it’s clear that Canelo’s response was in good fun.

Canelo talks about the rematch strategy against Dmitry Bivol

During a recent interview with Fight Hub, Canelo Alvarez discussed his potential rematch with Dmitry Bivol following his fight against John Ryder.

When asked about whether he plans on throwing more punches in the rematch, just as he did in the second fight against Gennady Golovkin, Canelo responded by saying, “The second fight with Golovkin, Eddy said to throw more than 100 punches more, so that’s what I did and I won. With the fight with Bivol, we know what we need for the fight, right? I am doing my best.”
