Oleksandr Usyk went head to head with Anthony Joshua and best him yet again, which took the world by storm. However, it also opened the opportunity for an even bigger contest between Usyk and Tyson Fury. The latter announced that he will return from his retirement for this mega fight. Let’s take a look at what the Mexican boxing sensation, Canelo Alvarez, had to say about it. 

While the Mexican was doing a Q&A with ‘Behind the Gloves’, he was quizzed about who would win the fight between Usyk and Fury. He replied, “Usyk is a really great fighter, good fighter, I saw him a long time ago. And he’s a great fighter with a lot of skills, but I think Fury have everything way, have boxing skills. I think it’s gonna be difficult for Usyk.”

Well, Canelo Alvarez iterated that although Usyk is a great fighter, Fury has everything to defeat him. In the interim, Alvarez last got defeated by the Russian boxer, Dmitry Bivol. Also, he is now gearing up for his upcoming trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin. 

Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk: A battle for greatness 

It has been months since the talks of Tyson Fury fighting the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua have been in the news. Although Fury was expecting to take Joshua next, the result of the August 20 bout, changed the match-up. Following his glorious victory, the Ukrainian took the opportunity and called out ‘The Gypsy King’ for a potential fight.

Usyk stated, “I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet, I’m sure. I’m convinced he wants to fight me. I want to fight him. And if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all.”

Soon after this, even the British boxer welcomed the challenge and said, “I will annihilate both of them on the same night. Get your f—ing checkbook out because ‘The Gypsy King’ is here to stay forever!”
