Jake Paul has stirred the entire fighting world ever since he made his ring walk. He broke into the news headlines by beating ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, thus calling out some bigwigs of MMA. Later, he even entered a Twitter banter alongside many hotshots of combat sports.
Recently, he fought Ben Askren and battered him to the pulp to claim a thunderous T/KO win. This fight garnered the attention of the entire world and went down as one of the best events of 2021.
Lately, Canelo Alvarez gave his take on Jake Paul’s moves in the boxing world. Speaking to ESPN Deportes, he said, “The truth is that he (Jake) obviously brings another type of audience, the boxing audience is different, we bring the boxing audience.

“And personally, for me, another audience that may not see much boxing but wants to see Canelo, he brings that other audience… YouTubers, younger people, and it’s good that people get to know boxing, on the other hand,” (h/t Boxing Scene).
Despite Paul carrying a vast sea of audience behind him, it seems Canelo isn’t really bothered about his antics. He feels the hardcore boxing fans will always root for real boxing bouts instead of celebrity boxing clashes.
However, he acknowledged that ‘The Problem Child’ has hooked in fans across various verticals into the world of boxing.

He is now looking to touch gloves with even bigger opponents, thus raising the bar of celebrity boxing.
‘The Problem Child’ wants to trace a long pathway in the sport with his extensive skill sets. And capitalizing on the same, he will unquestionably look forward to touching gloves with some bigwigs of boxing subsequently.
