Speaking to Boxing Social ahead of his fight, Canelo addressed and disapproved of Golovkin’s comments on Oscar De La Hoya. He said, “I think it’s stupidity. He’s just talking stupid. Because, in the ring, yes, you get up there to hurt them. But not to kill somebody.” [via a translator]
The super-star fighter then explained, “You don’t want to kill somebody there. It’s not humane… It’s not human to want to do that. So it’s stupidity. He’s talking stupid. It’s not right, it’s not human to want to try and kill somebody.”[via a translator]
This suggested that Golovkin has no business making these comments about any potential opponent.

What did Gennady Golovkin say about the former promoter of Canelo Alvarez?
This all goes back to Gennady Golovkin’s comments on Alvarez’s former promoter, Oscar De La Hoya. ‘The Golden Boy’ said he was looking to make a comeback to the ring and would like to face ‘GGG’. However, the Kazakh said he would kill De La Hoya in the ring if he could ever kill someone. Which is a big surprise coming from someone like ‘Triple G’.

The drama between these two fighters never seems to end. Both fighters feel there is unfinished between the two after Alvarez took home a controversial win in the re-match. Maybe things like this could fuel a potential trilogy fight. What do you make of Canelo’s response to Golovkin’s comments on Oscar De La Hoya?
