Why will Billy Joe Saunders be a tough fight for Canelo Alvarez?
Reports suggest that the two have agreed to fight on May 8th. However, it all depends on Alvarez’s next fight against the Turkish challenger. If Alvarez beats Yildirim, why will Billy Joe Saunders be a tough test for the superstar Mexican?
Alvarez has fought 57 professional fights and lost only once. His only loss came at the hands of legendary Floyd Mayweather. Since then, only Gennady Golovkin has come close to beating the Mexican.

Saunders’ slick movement and counter-punching style is very similar to Mayweather. In addition, he is a southpaw, which is always a tricky aspect. And given that Alvarez struggled against Mayweather, it is no surprise he is wary of Saunders’ style.
However, since then, the multi-weight world champion has improved and has fought every type of opponent. Therefore, he is unquestionably equipped to take on the challenge of Saunders. The only thing remaining is to perform on the night when the two eventually meet.
