After a layoff of 12-months, Caleb Truax will make a return to the squared circle on January 30. He will take on the IBF champion Caleb Plant to challenge him for his super-middleweight belt. Going into this fight, Truax considers himself as an underdog who is keen on reclaiming his IBF gold.
In a conversation with Boxing Scene, ‘Golden’ laid out his notions on the approach towards the upcoming title fight.
He said, “I’ve always been the underdog and I embrace that role. I fight my best when I’m in that spot and I look forward to proving all the naysayers wrong again.”

Truax slides over Plant in terms of experience and number of fights. ‘Golden’ takes his current age into consideration and believes this might be his last opportunity towards a 168-pound title shot. He had a rigorous camp of seven weeks for this fight, and he wants to give it his all in this battle.
Plant on the other side is an undefeated boxer going super strong on his roadway to become the best super-middleweight. A win here will leave his path clear to a title unification bout against Billy Joe Saunders or Canelo Alvarez.
