Caleb Plant has his best friend, biggest supporter, and “worst critic” in the same person: his wife, Jordan Plant. The two share a beautiful bond and have publicly expressed their respect and affection for each other. However, there is one aspect that the American boxer appreciates about his wife that the FOX sports reporter keeps it “real”.
Plant, 32, sat down in a conversation with Andre Ward, where the latter asked him some heartwarming questions about the couple. Besides, he also wondered whether Jordan was his worst critic, given her long-term association with sports. ‘Sweethands’ then responded, “There’s nothing I love more for my boxing than honesty. Like, that’s going to get you where you need.”
He continued, “I do not like when people sugarcoat things to me or just, you know, a** kissing and stuff. JP, she’s not like that. She’s going to keep it real and I need that, you know. So, I know where I stand.” These statements resonated with Jordan, who then took to the comment section and wrote, “That’s what best friends do: keep it real. ✊🏽”

However, Jermall Charlo, who has been at loggerheads with the former IBF champion, had a different take. He took a dig at him and commented, “But has she ever lied to him? Hhmm asked her about them Charlo Nights.” The two have been at each other’s throats since they clashed backstage at Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr. They even have been rumored to settle their rivalry inside the ring, but the negotiations haven’t reached anywhere.

Coming back to the interview, Ward, 40, then asked Plant, at 23-2, whether he had trash day in sparring. The guest again had a candid response and pointed out how his wife let him know whenever he had one. He also then detailed how Jordan was different from other reporters.

The Tennessee native continued, “Bread and my dad will have her judge my sparring. She’s been tough on a couple of scorecards.” Plant explained that Jordan had respect for the fighters, as she had been an athlete and she understood what it was like to be one. In addition, he detailed how his wife had experienced it firsthand, and when she talked to the athletes, she could place herself in their shoves. Something that not all reporters can do.

The interim WBA champion added, “She understands the work, the sacrifice, and sees it firsthand. She helps along with that, putting in a lot of sacrifices herself, just like your wife does for you to be where you’re at. That’s one thing I feel Jordan brings to the ring that maybe not everyone else has as a journalist.” Therefore, it seems Plant has immense respect for Jordan, not only as his wife and her profession but also as a person and for hard work.
