‘Caleb Plant Gonna Regret Accepting the Fight’: Fans Go Wild as David Benavidez & Caleb Plant’s Team Get Into Verbal Altercation Before Press Conference

On March 25th, former IBF World Super Middleweight title-holder, Caleb Plant will square off against WBC Interim World Super Middleweight champion, David Benavidez. While Plant exhibits only one loss in professional boxing, Benavidez remains undefeated. Ahead of their first press conference, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant’s team ran into a heated argument. talkSport correspondent Michael Benson took to Twitter and shared a brief clip of this exchange.

In the clip, finally walking away, Benavidez is heard saying, “I’m gonna knock you the f*ck out, b*tch.” While Benavidez fought his last fight last year in May against David Lemieux, Plant, in October last faced Anthony Dirrell. However, acknowledging the presence of “a lot of sh*t talking going back and forth”, Benavidez vowed to hospitalize Plant at their press conference. Meanwhile, following the circulation of the brief clip which Benson tweeted, several fans took to Twitter and replied to it.

The boxing world meditates on David Benavidez and Caleb Plant running into an argument ahead of their press conference

While a number of fans highlighted Plant’s ability to fight in the ring, others supported Benavidez. “Benavidez crushes Plant in 6. It’s gonna be brutal,” a fan asserted in favour of Benavidez who believes his 23-year-old self did a relatively better job with Direll. On the other hand, a user spotted a spark of emotion resting on Benavidez. Likewise, they instructed Benavidez to have a better mindset than Direll.

On the other end, a user felt Plant would beat Benavidez via decision in the end. Contrary to Benavidez, who belittled Plant’s 13 knockouts in the ring, this user is ready to state that Plant will successfully put a halt on Benavidez.

The comments went on and there were many who believed in Benavidez. At their press conference, Benavidez bragged about beating Anthony Dirrell and becoming a champion before Plant had that designation attained. Accordingly, a number of fans stated how Benavidez would make Plant regret.

A user touched upon Caleb Plant, regretting the decision to fight Benavidez. However, there were users who were of the view that they liked both Plant and Benavidez.

Despite liking both fighters, a user stated Plant would “outbox” Benavidez who recently accused the former of flipping narratives.
