The Fulton-Figueroa fight was underway, with both rivals just one round away from a title victory. As fans eagerly awaited the outcome of the Isaac Cruz vs. Angel Fierro clash, glimpses of Stephen Fulton‘s dressing room sparked a frenzy of wild reactions. The buzz was largely fueled by ‘Cool Boy Steph’s’ peculiar outfit.

Nearly a year after suffering the first loss of his career to Naoya Inoue, Stephen Fulton moved up a weight class and made his featherweight debut, defeating Carlos Castro by split decision. ‘The Heartbreaker’ had already transitioned to the 126-pound division, claiming the interim title before being upgraded to full WBC champion. With so much on the line, a win would pave the way for title unification at featherweight. However, for the moment, fans couldn’t stop talking about the unusual outfit ‘Scooter’ chose for his fight against Figueroa.

Stephen Fulton: Outfitted to make a statement

Stephen Fulton’s fight shorts for his WBC title fight against Brandon Figueroa👀,” read a tweet from @BoxingScene. Sporting knee-length shorts with tattered ends resembling worn-out denim, Fulton completed the look with wheat-colored shoes that resembled the outdoor Timberland boots that one commentator likened to workmen’s footwear.

With the Cruz-Fierro fight playing on the TVN screen in the background, Stephen Fulton could be seen shadowboxing. With his hands wrapped but his gloves still off, he appeared focused and ready. Known for his sharp skills in the ring, ‘Scooter’ is also considered one of boxing’s most stylish fighters.

Carrying on Philadelphia’s rich boxing tradition alongside Jaron Ennis, Fulton shoulders a great responsibility. While his performances speak for themselves, why not add some flair and make the experience even more memorable for fans? And, as expected, his outfit did exactly that – sparking plenty of reactions.

Let’s check out what some of the fans had to say.

Ensemble before a likely triumph

One fan couldn’t hold back their laughter. They tweeted, “Bro, what is that lmao? And the boots too; it’ll be funny if he wins with that drip.” Despite the humor, they acknowledged that winning in such an outfit would make it even more entertaining.

Another fan was simply in shock. “Boy, wtf,” they said in disbelief. Perhaps they found Fulton’s look too bold or unconventional for a boxing match. But he’s certainly not the first fighter to step into the ring with a unique sense of style.

A different user echoed similar disbelief. “Bru, hell naa 😹,” they said. Fulton’s outfit was so unexpected that it immediately reminded fans of past fashion controversies – like when Devin Haney‘s shorts and shoes became a major talking point during his fight against Ryan Garcia.

For some, Fulton’s attire sparked nostalgia. One user compared it to a classic video game: “Def Jam Vendetta type shii! 🤣🤣🤣🤣, ” they said. With its oversized, street-fighter aesthetic, Fulton’s outfit looked like something straight out of ‘Def Jam Vendetta,’ the 2003 fighting game featuring rappers as characters, known for their flashy, over-the-top streetwear.

Another fan playfully questioned his footwear. They said, “Them [better] not be his fight shoes 😂.” Of course, they were joking, but Fulton’s shoes were undeniably unusual for a boxing match. Then again, what better place to showcase individuality than on a stage that inspires young fighters worldwide?

As the reactions poured in, Fulton delivered where it mattered most – inside the ring. He defeated Brandon Figueroa by unanimous decision, reclaiming his status as a world champion for the second time. “Dude won a title in timberlands. F**king legend,” remarked a user in the comments.
