Tommy Fury, younger brother of the former unified and current WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, blasted Oleksandr Usyk following the cancellation of the Ukrainian’s potential fight with ‘The Gypsy King’. According to Tommy Fury, ‘The Gypsy King’ is certainly not the one to blame for the collapse of Fury vs. Usyk. ‘TNT’ who fed Jake Paul his first defeat in pro boxing, believes Tyson Fury doesn’t fear any man let alone Usyk.

With the collapse of Fury vs. Usyk, the prospect of crowing the first Heavyweight undisputed champion of the four-belt era went into hibernation one more time in boxing. Although Usyk is the unified heavyweight champion, the purse split was called by and greatly in the favour of Tyson Fury. Despite agreeing to the 70/30 split, Usyk stopped training for Fury since the duo disagreed on other material terms.

Tommy Fury recently appeared on Soccer Am and defended Tyson Fury. According to him, the fact that Usyk vs. Fury is not happening has nothing to do with ‘The Gypsy King’. While Tommy Fury called his elder brother ‘fearless,’ he addressed the Ukrainian as “a cruiserweight who can’t do anything“. “The reason why this fight isn’t getting made isn’t down to Tyson at all. He wants to fight, he’s proven to everybody. He doesn’t fear any man, especially not a cruiserweight who can’t do anything, anyway,” said Tommy Fury.

Usyk is yet to embrace a loss in professional boxing. He unified the Cruiserweight titles against Mairis Briedis in 2018. After defeating Briedis, in that same year, Usyk became the undisputed champion in Cruiserweight. Impressively, he defended his status while still in 2018 against Tony Bellew. In 2019, Usyk moved up to Heavyweight and in a year, defeated Derek Chisora to lay his hands on the WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title. While Tommy Fury belittles Usyk’s achievements, Usyks has displayed impressive skills and determination to be on the pound-for-pound list.
