Fearon points out the difference in treatment when it comes to Tyson Fury
In a recent revelation, British promoter Spencer Fearon shed light on the genuine cut suffered by Tyson Fury during sparring. Fearon pointed to Kevin Lerena, who previously challenged Daniel Dubois for the WBA regular heavyweight championship. He stated, “I believe it was Kevin Lerena who challenged for the WBA regular heavyweight championship against Daniel Dubois, scored a knockdown, and then got knocked out himself. I believe that was him sparring there.”
Expressing disappointment, Fearon addressed the lack of support for Fury, especially from fellow professional fighters and ex-champions. He emphasized Fury’s role as a commendable ambassador for British boxing. Fearon found it disturbing that Fury did not receive the backing he deserved. Moreover, he added, “Especially being brave enough to travel out to America and going against Deontay Wilder who was the hardest hitting heavyweight out there.”
“It’s sad, it’s really sad,” Fearon remarked, highlighting his vocal stance on the matter. He stressed on Fury’s contributions, applauding his bravery in challenging Wilder, known for his powerful punches, and achieving success in their trilogy fights. In the meantime, Fury has found himself as a target for Usyk’s team for pulling out of the fight.
