Dillian Whyte, out of action for almost 9 months, is ready to make his return on December 15 against Ebenezer Tetteh in Gibraltar. ‘The Body Snatcher’ will use this fight as the last tune-up match before taking on some giants of the division.
In August 2023, the Port Antonio native failed his pre-fight drugs test before his planned rematch against Anthony Joshua. However, fortunately for the disgraced contender, the Texas Boxing Commission later cleared him of the charges in March 2024. And since then, he has been eyeing that one big comeback match. The 36-year-old might not have many matches left in him at this point. However, he has prepared himself a heavyweight hit list and has put the whole division on notice.

Dillian Whyte’s seeking redemption
While talking to talkSPORT, the 30-3 boxer revealed that he won’t have any warm-up fights after December 15. He wants tough fights and is ready to challenge the best in the division. During the interview, Gareth A Davies revealed that he wants to see Dillian Whyte facing AJ in 2025, in a rematch that was very close to happening in 2023.

He stated, “I would love that fight, you know. I love to fight Anthony Joshua again,” as he listed down all the opponents he wants to face. “I love to fight Tyson Fury again. I’d love to fight um Derek Chisora again you know. I’d love to fight those guys again, you know, obviously,” stated Whyte.
Whyte then spoke about his unfinished business with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. He stated, “I’ve avenged one of my losses already. I would love to avenge against AJ and against Tyson Fury. I’d love to fight those guys again.” Whyte only lost three fights in his career. While he has avenged his loss against Alexander Povetkin, he still needs to settle the accounts against AJ and Fury, and he wants one more chance at redemption.

As the interview progressed, Davies himself suggested an opponent to Whyte in the former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. ‘The Body Snatcher’ loved the idea of facing the last American boxer to hold the Heavyweight title.

Britain’s faller star vs. America’s last hope
Davies stated that he would love to see either Derek Chisora or Whyte face Deontay Wilder and was surprised that the Jamaican had not called him out yet. Whyte stated that he won’t shy away from the challenge. However, due to the unpredictable nature of Chisora and Wilder, it is tough to make a fight. “He’s guy that’s an entity of his own. Him and Derek where they like a big black hole in space you never know what’s going to come out of it,” explained Dillian Whyte.
However, Dillian Whyte wants the fight because there are only four big-name boxers left in the heavyweight division that he has not fought yet. He does not care about winning or losing, but to fight against every good boxer of the era is a feat he wants. “I just want to fight. If I can fight Wilder, Usyk, Andy Ruiz Jr, Jarrell Miller then I have fought everyone else in my era. So win lose or draw I will have fought them all,” confessed Whyte.
Dillian Whyte also holds a major grudge against Wilder and has a complicated history. Wilder held the WBC Heavyweight title from 2015 to 2020. And in those 5 years, Whyte was mandatory for more than 1000 days. However, The Bronze Bomber never gave Whyte an opportunity and the latter only got the title opportunity when Tyson Fury dethroned the American champion.

The pair have been at each other throats since then, but the rivalry has never resulted in a match. Will things be different this time? Only time will tell.
