“Brilliant Photo “: George Kambosos Jr Reliving Unforgettable Memory With Evander Holyfield in Recent Picture Draws Mixed Reactions From Fans

After his last win against Maxi Hughes, George Kambosos Jr. claimed the IBO lightweight world championship title. However, ‘Ferocious’ failed to impress the boxing world because of his controversial win over Hughes. The sentiment remained the same as Kambosos joyously shared a picture of himself with the legendary fighter Evander Holyfield. When the picture started circulating on X (Twitter), fans voiced an unexpected response to the tweet from ‘Ferocious.’

Holyfield is the only fighter in the history of boxing to win the heavyweight title four different times. He is undeniably one of the most respected boxing personalities in the whole wide world. Boxers and fans alike cherish the former boxer, and so did Kambosos, prompting him to share the precious memory. However, fans could not settle on how they felt about the picture shared by the thirty-year-old boxer.

The picture in question features Kambosos posing with Holyfield in a private jet. Alongside the picture, Kambosos wrote, “Throwback, me and the Real Deal, Evander Holyfield in the private jet to Las Vegas and then to Miami. Some unbelievable stories I got to listen to. Absolute legend.” While some fans congratulated the lightweight champion, others criticized Kambosos.

One user complimented Kambosos for the photo and claimed Holyfield was one of the greatest heavyweight fighters. The user even speculated that chatting with Holyfield must have been a wonderful experience. It’s worth noting that the sixty-year-old boxer’s career spanned over 27 years. Holyfield fought the likes of Mike Tyson, George Foreman, and Riddick Bowe, so he indeed has some interesting stories to tell.

Unlike the other user, this person wasn’t so kind with his words. The user claimed Holyfield was a real “warrior,” unlike Kombosos himself, who lost against Devin Haney twice in a row. The user even mentioned that Kombosos lost his last fight against Hughes. It’s important to mention that Kombosos won the fight via majority decision.

Another user asserted Triller spent a lot of money, alluding to the private jet both fighters were traveling in. Notably, IBF found Triller defaulting on contractual obligations for the Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. fight. Thus, the fight was given to Matchroom Boxing to promote. 

Though occasional, the post did receive some supportive comments. The next user simply commented with Kombosos’ nickname in the ring. Previously, he also went by the nickname of ‘The Emperor.’ However, he changed it to ‘Ferocious’ after losing to Devin Haney for the first time. 

One user asserted that Kombosos is not a good fighter in response to the picture from the former unified lightweight champion. In contrast to the remark, Komboses held the WBA, IBF, WBO, and the Ring Magazine lightweight titles from 2021 to 2022. It’s a feat not a lot of boxers have achieved.
