Mikaela Mayer vs Ewa Brodnicka has been ordered to go official by WBO
As per the reports of Boxing Scene, Luis Batista-Salas has already advised both the contenders to come under terms, completing the bout shortly.
Boxing scene claims to have had a copy of the official statement by Luis Batista- Salas, Chairman of WBO.
As per the statement, “Please be advised the parties have ten (10) days upon issuance of this notice to negotiate and reach an agreement for the WBO Female. Jr. Lightweight Mandatory Championship Contest between WBO Female Champion Ms. Ewa Brodnicka and Ms. Mikaela [Mayer].
“If an accord is not reached within the timeframe set forth herein, a Purse Bid will be ordered pursuant with the WBO Regulations of World Championship Contests.”
Mayer vs Brodnicka trail
If materialized, Mayer vs Brodnicka might go down in the history book for umpteen causes. Firstly, both women are undefeated, which is a rare scenario in women’s boxing.
Thus one of them would have to fall from their clear professional record. This particular factor is expected to intensify the matchup.
WBO 130 lbs Women’s champion Brodnicka has held her title since 2017. After being an interim champion for a brief period, she vanquished Irma Balijagic Alder to cement herself as the World Champion.
However, Mayer would seemingly give her a tough-time inside the squared circle. Mayer has notched some notable wins, despite not having spent too much time on the canvas. In her last appearance in July, Mayer claimed an impressive victory over Helen Joseph via decision.
Mayer (13-0) will now headline her next fight against Brodnicka, crossing a huge milestone for modern-day women’s boxing.
