Matchroom Sport founder Eddie Hearn announced a huge matchup. In a recent tweet, Hearn said that the WBC has ordered to book boxing sensation Ryan Garcia against Luke Campbell.
The coronavirus pandemic has turned the world on its head. Boxing was stopped for quite a while. And even when it resumed, fighters — who had agreed to fight (behind closed doors) — have found themselves in a dispute. Similar was the case with Ryan Garcia. The undefeated 20-0 fighter was slated to fight Jorge Linares. However, that fight did not materialize.

When Garcia and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya couldn’t get on the same page, Linares took a different route. Similarly, Luke Campbell was expected to fight Javier Fortuna next month.
Like Linares, Fortuna took a different path. Both, Fortuna and Linares, have agreed to fight each other. And this leaves Campbell and Garcia with the perfect opportunity to battle it out.
Eddie Hearn announces Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell
Gracia and Campbell have developed quite a rivalry on social media. Recently, “King Ryan” responded to a post by DAZN USA. The tweet quoted Campbell, who said, “I think I win by KO [against Garcia].” Seemingly annoyed with the post, Garcia fired back with his own tweet.
Eddie Hearn happily breaks the news.

Garcia last fought against Francisco Fonseca. “The Flash” defeated Fonseca in the very first round via a brutal knockout. Campbell (20–3), on the other hand, lost his last outing against Vasyl Lomachenko in August 2019. He has been inactive since.

According to DAZN, a deal has not been finalized yet. Both parties will need to negotiate the terms. When it is all said and done, the winner of this match will fight the lightweight champion, Devin Haney.
