The unified super-middleweight title fight between Billy Joe Saunders and Canelo Alvarez is in jeopardy now. A day ago, the WBO super-middleweight champ Billy Joe Saunders’ father asserted that if they do not get a 24 ft ring, they’ll pull out of this fight.

Saunders’ team feels that Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sport is favoring Canelo Alvarez. And that’s principally why they’ve decided to put this fight in a smaller ring.

In an interview with iFL TV, Tom Saunders shed some light on the pertaining juncture. He said, “There’s nothing in the contract about ring size. Negotiations have broke down… They’ve said it’s either 20ft or book your flights home… The fight’s off.” (h/t Michael Benson)
