Andre Ward retired in 2017 but the former boxer is making shock waves in the boxing world. Ward is the former super middleweight champion as well as the former light heavyweight champion. He retired from the sport because he no longer had the desire to compete. Additionally, he also confessed how strenuous boxing training is and that his body was no longer in a position to train.

The former boxer had his last bout with Sergey Kovalev; he defeated his opponent in a spectacular TKO and ended his hall-of-fame career. Though, he recently revealed that before his retirement he was interested to fight Tony Bellow and Anthony Joshua at cruiserweight and heavyweight respectively. This revelation made the boxing world come out to defend and support the former boxer.

How did the fans perceive the comments made by Andre Ward?

Ward was undefeated throughout his career and never truly looked vulnerable. He was inclined to challenge himself to tougher competition and etch his name as one of the greatest to ever do it. Recently, he revealed had he continued fighting, he would fight Tony Bellew at cruiserweight. Bellew was the champion of the weight division at the time he retired. Then, he expressed that after beating Bellew he would have gone up to heavyweight to fight the then-heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.

He stated, “The plan, If I stayed around was gonna be Tony Bellew at cruiserweight and then I was gonna fight Joshua at heavyweight”.@IFLTV also took to Twitter to report the same. It also proposed an interesting question to the fans. It stated, “How do you think he would have faired against both of them?”

One fan thinks that the former boxer is overrated. “Am I the only one who thinks Ward is extremely overrated”

On the contrary, one fan thinks he has the skillsets to beat them as he is the better boxer.He would have beaten them both. However, the weight could make him uncomfortable. But he’s a better boxer than both because he has the right spirit.”

One fan was of a similar opinion who stated, “Would have beaten both as well”

But one fan does not share the same opinion. The response stated, He wouldn’t be undefeated”

Lastly, one fan believes that the former boxer, Beats Bellew, Heavyweight might have been a step too far but he was an amazing fighter
