The Mayweather family experienced the loss of someone dear to the whole family. Recently, Floyd Mayweather Jr’s assistant, Marikit Laurico, passed away on March 31, 2023. Her death was a sudden shock to the Mayweather family and the fans. Laurico was the long-term personal assistant to the former five-division world champion. And she was there as Mayweather’s children grew and blossomed. This is just a depiction of her proximity to the whole family. And, now, the whole boxing community has joined the Mayweather family in mourning the loss of the kind soul.

Numerous personalities from the boxing world took to social media to show their respect for Laurico and showered love and strength on the Mayweather family during these tough times.

Laurico was 49 and had been with Mayweather Jr for almost 10 years. There has not been any public announcement related to her cause of death. But, it is reported that she had been feeling ill after her recent trip to Dubai. She played a pivotal role in Mayweather’s life as his personal assistant. There were claims that she suffered a heart attack, but no substantiating evidence was provided. This claim has also not been confirmed by the Mayweather family.

The whole Mayweather clan can’t believe the loss they have incurred. And many members of the family took to Instagram to remember “Kitchi.” Mayweather’s daughters and his baby’s mother Mellisa Brim took to Instagram to share pictures of Laurico and remember her life.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not made any public remarks on the death of his personal assistant. It is safe to say that he must still be shaken by the sudden loss of one of the most important members of his team. The boxing world has come forward to show love for the Mayweather family in this hard time.

Boxing world reacts to the shocking loss

Eminent personalities from the sport have joined the Mayweather family in mourning the loss of “Kitchie.” And ensure that the Mayweather family doesn’t feel alone in bearing this tremendous loss. Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe took to Twitter to express his pain in bearing the loss. He replied with two broken heart emojis to convey his sorrow.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman penned down a heartfelt message to remember Mayweather Jr’s personal assistant. And he forwarded his condolences to Floyd Mayweather Jr and his family.

Three-division world champion Badou Jack also showed his respect and shared condolences with the Mayweather family.

President of DiBella entertainment, Lou Dibella, remembered Laurico and sent his condolences to the Mayweather family.
