The world of boxing is witnessing an interesting collaboration between a social media star and a seasoned fighter. Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, has signed Indian boxing champion Neeraj Goyat to his promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions. This move comes after months of Goyat campaigning for a fight against Paul on social media. Goyat is no stranger to the spotlight.

He boasts a successful boxing career, holding the former WBC Asian welterweight title and being the first Indian boxer to make the WBC world rankings. He also enjoys a significant social media following and has dabbled in acting, appearing on Indian television and in Bollywood films. It raises the question of how he got signed under the boxer that he despised so much.

The boxing world is abuzz with the news of MVP’s newest recruit, Neeraj Goyat. The Indian boxing sensation, the first international fighter under MVP’s banner, is poised to make a grand debut this summer. Not only will Goyat grace the ring, but he’s also expected to be a “key part of a global MVP event” later this year.

This all happened after Goyat reached Puerto Rico and engaged in an altercation with Jake Paul. This grabbed the attention of Jake Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, and they saw an opportunity to sign the 32-year-old boxer to their promotions. Talks for potential opponents have already begun, hinting at a thrilling matchup for the rising star.

Goyat brings not only his talent but a global fanbase to the table. This international signing hints at MVP’s ambitious plans to expand its reach. This was reported on Instagram by ESPN reporter Marc Raimondi, and he wrote in the caption, “After a viral social media campaign to land a fight with Jake Paul, Goyat has signed with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. The star Indian boxer is MVP’s first international signing.

Well, this is quite big news, since he’s one of the few boxers getting signed under an American professional banner. Preceding him are the names of 3x Olympian Vijender Singh signing with Top Rank, while Mandeep Jagra signing with Roy Jones Jr. Even MVP is quite excited about this new addition to their roster.

MVP is fired up to have Neeraj Goyat onboard

Neeraj Goyat boasts an impressive professional career that began in 2011. With 18 wins and 4 losses under his belt, he’s proven his mettle against tough competition. Goyat’s recent win streak is particularly noteworthy. He’s emerged victorious in 9 out of his last 10 fights, with the only setback coming against a formidable opponent, Jose Zepeda, in March 2023.

In a statement released on X, MVP’s co-founder Nick Bidarian said, “Neeraj Goyat marks a historic milestone as MVP’s inaugural international athlete signee, and we couldn’t be more excited about his potential as a standout competitor and leader in the realm of boxing. His viral callouts of Jake Paul certainly got our attention, and we’re honored to welcome Neeraj into our family of exceptional athletes.”

Furthermore, they have high hopes for the Indian audience, “The influence of both Indian fighters and the Indian boxing fan base has been undervalued on the global stage, and we eagerly anticipate shining a worldwide spotlight on one of India’s premier boxers.” So, most probably, Goyat’s aspirations aligned with those of the Most Valuable Promotions, and he’s decided to switch sides.
