Is Mike Tyson's return against Jake Paul a thrilling comeback or a desperate spectacle?

After Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, Frank Warren’s Queensberry follows suit in inking a deal with DAZN – which also houses Matchroom and Riyadh Season cards. With some of the biggest names coming under one umbrella, the sweet science is about to get sweeter. But that’s not all! Boxing fans are gearing up for November 2024 as boxing legend Mike Tyson makes his comeback against Jake Paul, and there’s more.

The boxing world was grateful enough to witness the ultimate dream fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed light-heavyweight crown in October 2024. While the controversial result left a bad taste, it certainly set up an inevitable rematch. Similarly, Floyd Schofield’s test against Rene Giron and O’Shaquie Foster’s win in the Robson Conceicao rematch has already kickstarted November 2024 with a flare.

Akin to Beterbiev vs. Bivol, fans will get their heart racing with excitement, if not more, as it’s not just Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul to look out for in the month of November. So, what’s more?

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul: Records to break, future to make (November 15)

Mike Tyson last fought Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. Since then, several of his past rivals have been chasing the Baddest Man on the Planet for a similar fight, including Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. Whether it’s for money or closure, the thought of fighting Iron Mike once again got all of them riled up. But the 58-year-old legend had other plans—choosing Jake Paul as his next opponent.

Fun fact: Paul fought on the Tyson vs. Jones Jr. undercard – where he sent NBA star Nate Robison into oblivion. Manifesting a Mike Tyson fight for the last three and a half years, the Problem Child finally picks up his gloves to face him in Arlington, Texas, at the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

This event will be Netflix’s debut in boxing, and they are sparing no expense. From an action-packed fight card to creative marketing billboards, this event will also break a legendary record as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano prepare for their highly anticipated rematch.

Claressa Shields, alongside Taylor and Serrano, held the highest fight purse record in women’s boxing history ($1 million each). However, the British pride and the Puerto Rican queen will shatter the previous record with their rematch – with Taylor earning $6.1 million and Serrano just north of that. What’s more, you ask? Well, the stakes remain high as Taylor also puts her undisputed crown on the line.

Further, Neeraj Goyat and Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington will fight Whindersson Nunes and Dana Coolwell, respectively, as they look to gain worldwide recognition, setting them up for blockbuster fights in the near future. Moreover, Mario Barrios will make the first defense of his WBC welterweight title against Abel Ramos and Shadasian Green will look to pick up the vacant WBO Super Middleweight title by facing Melinda Watpool.
