A night to be remembered for and a fight to be kept in the memories. That’s how the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury played out. The high-octane fight with a flavor of revenge gave fans everything they could hope for. The fireworks and tactical back-and-forth kept the fans on their toes throughout the fight. And the end also didn’t disappoint them.

Usyk, 37, and Fury, 36, met in the middle of the Kingdom Arena when they stood across from each other on December 21 and fought for the unified heavyweight championship. In the first encounter, the Ukrainian fighter had edged out ‘The Gypsy King’. And the result remained the same this time, too. The fight, which gave both fighters a legacy-solidifying opportunity, went the distance, and it was Usyk who left the arena as a victor with three gold straps, as the scores read 116-112 (x3) in his favor.

However, the fight wasn’t without controversy and drama. The fight turned out to be a closely contested affair, the result of which was protested by Frank Warren and Fury both. Fury immediately left the ring after the fight, whereas Warren openly vented out his frustration and anger. He said, “I don’t understand how he has only won four rounds. It’s up to him, it’s too early to say. It’s immediately after a fight, and emotions are running high. But it’s nuts. I’m very disappointed, but it is what it is.”

Interestingly, Usyk’s festivities were interrupted by Daniel Dubois, who stormed into the ring and demanded a rematch of their controversial first match. Meanwhile, Fury’s future is hanging in balance. So, what will both the boxers do now?

What’s ahead for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk now?

As Dubois, 27, has the IBF title, it’s logical for Usyk to go against him and once again reclaim the undisputed title. What’s more? Usyk is also willing to entertain the idea of going back to cruiserweight. He told Sky Sports, “I’ll try and go back to cruiserweight again. Yeah, I will try.”

Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, also confirmed that the unified champion was serious about the decision to move down. He declared, “He was [Oleksandr Usyk] saying seriously that he wants to go back and cruiserweight and collect all the belts again… But it is up to him; he is ultimately the decision maker.”

What about Fury? He has expressed his desire to spend some time with his family after spending 3 months away from them. He disclosed, “I’m gonna go home now and enjoy it. We go home to a new year. Let’s see what it brings.” The rumors have that he could match Anthony Joshua next. But it remains to be seen whether that will happen or not.
