Carl Frampton was clearly not in his best form tonight. The former two-division champion ended up being on the wrong end of a beat down and fell prey to Jamel Herring’s vicious shots. In a failed attempt at the WBO super featherweight strap, Frampton got knocked out in round six and announced his retirement in the post-fight segment.
It was quite shocking for the entire boxing world, as none of them expected to see the 34-year-old hung up his gloves. However, Frampton did declare his statement and put a quell on his glittery career.
Following 28 wins with just 3 losses, ‘Jackal’ is no longer an active professional. Meanwhile, several fans and boxing analysts have reacted to the retirement, pouring their love and respect for the ex-champion. Here’s a look at some of the tweets for Carl Frampton’s retirement.
