50-year-old former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs seems ready to re-lace the boxing gloves and take on the MMA veteran Rampage Jackson in an exhibition this year. Following the footsteps of several contemporaries of his time like Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson, Briggs also seems interested in bagging a hefty pay-check and providing a glimpse of his action to the modern-era fans.
That said, he was already in a massive social media altercation with Rampage Jackson. Former UFC star Jackson didn’t back away from offering responses and it gave a prominent lifeline to their in-ring scrap. However, not everything seems to be in Brigg’s favor.
The Brownsville native recently dropped a video of his sparring session, which gave his believers enough reasons to worry about. Briggs and Jackson can possibly square off in 2022, as the preparations appear to have begun already. Here’s a glimpse of it.

Briggs had also called out Mike Tyson after ‘Iron’ staged an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr., in November 2020. If he is still willing to go for the challenge, Briggs needs to topple Jackson firstly. While the recent clip doesn’t seem to work in his favor, Shannon Briggs can still shock the world by entering the squared circle.
