Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul on November 15, at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas was an underwhelming affair. The fight somehow fell behind everyone’s expectations as the 58-year-old boxing legend was like a passenger in the whole fight. After the first two rounds, his age was visible. He seemed lethargic and bulky as the fight went on.
By the end, he was even struggling to finish the fight as The Problem Child stopped throwing punches 10 seconds before the actual bell. Since the bout, many rumors have started flowing around, claiming the fight to be rigged. A month after the fight, Mike Tyson sat down for an interview with Rich Davis and Steve Covino, acknowledged all the rumors, and revealed Jake Paul’s punching power.

Jake Paul’s punch left Iron Mike sore
While talking with Mike Tyson, Covino asked whether the boxing legend would like to clear up any rumors regarding the fight. The Brooklyn native did not sugarcoat his words and claimed, “It was a real fight,” to squash down every rumor. However, when asked his thoughts on Jake Paul’s punching power, Iron Mike answered, “I don’t remember it.”

To support his answer, Mike Tyson revealed that after the fight, his body was sore. Even after using 14oz gloves, the damage was so severe that the Brooklyn native’s whole body was in pain. “My body was really sore the next day. My body, my chest, my stomach, and stuff was really sore,” stated Tyson while admiring Jake Paul’s punching power.
The fact that Paul has earned 7 out of his 11 victories via knockout, including against the likes of Tyron Woodley, reveals he has the power. But to think that even Mike Tyson would struggle after receiving his punches was surely a surprise. However, it can also come down to the fact that ‘Iron Mike’ was the only one who received damage in the fight. On the other hand, El Gallo remained completely unharmed. Furthermore, the legendary boxer also claimed that he has no memory of that fight, raising concerns about his health.

The Brooklyn native, in a lighthearted tone, further expanded on the fight that was like a nightmare for him. “I remember coming back from the first round. And then the next thing, I remember Jake doing some kind of little bow at the end. That’s the last thing I remember…I was not tired. I wasn’t sweaty. I went to the house that we stayed in. I left the house. Me and my wife, my kids then we went to the Afterparty. Then we came back,” confessed Tyson.
Mike Tyson’s post-fight confession has made it evident that he should not be fighting in the ring anymore. His fighting days are over and he should enjoy his retirement with his family. What do you think about Mike Tyson’s statement? Let us know your thoughts down below.
