It’s safe to say Adesanya might be disheartened to see the outcome. He wanted to see Jorge Masvidal win. However, Adesanya had also backed Colby Covington’s relentlessness as a massive factor, which finally turned out to be real in the cage. ‘The Last Style Bender’ connected with Mike Tyson on the HotBoxin’ podcast before UFC 272 and shared views on ‘Masvidal vs Covington’.
Adesanya said, “Street Jesus. I want him to win, I think his fight IQ might take me to a level.”
“Jorge’s fight IQ might take him over but Colby, it’s his gas tank and relentlessness. Colby, I mean he just goes. Even against Usman, those bits in the line and in the later rounds. I was like, Man he has got like yeah, second gear.”
In response, Mike Tyson said, “Yeah, Colby is a good fighter”
