Former British professional fighter Ricky Hatton is set to mark his comeback with a sensational exhibition bout against Marco Antonio Barrera. However, the bout was postponed due to unforeseen issues. A recent update revealed the revised date and venue for the event.

The bout, initially scheduled to take place at the AO Arena in Manchester on July 2, will now go down on November 12. Even though there is a four-month delay, the venue will remain the same.

Hatton took to social media to talk about his postponed fight. ‘The Hitman’ posted a picture of himself and his son after the duo sparred for 6 rounds and wrote, “Absolutely devastated. Got myself in great shape physically and mentally. But we go again each day #mentalhealth.”
The former pugilist also provided an update on the revised date of the bout. Additionally, Hatton also mentioned that he wishes to pass on his experiences to his son, Campbell Hatton.

BOXXER’s Hughie Fury vs Michael Hunter bout was also scheduled to take place at the same event. A deal was even signed to broadcast the event on Sky Sports. However, Fury contracted an illness that caused a delay in his fight against Hunter.
Even though Fury tried to train through his illness at his training camp in Cannes, France, his father and trainer, Peter Fury, canceled the training camp so as to let him recover.

Hatton took to social media to wish Fury a speedy recovery and mentioned that he felt devastated about the postponement of the fight. Additionally, ‘The Hitman’ also added that he will be back fitter and stronger in November.
It is reported that Hatton dropped a whopping 40 lbs in preparation to face Barrera in the squared circle. The delay can help get sharper for his comeback.
