Canelo Alvarez has once again surprised the boxing world with an announcement. He recently faced off against British boxer John Ryder in a homecoming bout in Mexico where he emerged victorious. However, the Mexican fighter was unable to knock out his opponent, which raised a lot of eyebrows. Coupled with his ignoring David Benavidez‘s constant attempts at getting a match, voices questioning Alvarez’s ability started appearing.

Yet shutting those voices, recently, news appeared that Alvarez would be facing Jermall Charlo in a three-fight deal signed with PBC. However, it seems that though Alvarez will be entering the ring against Charlo, it will be the other brother who will be facing him. News of the bout has rocked the boxing world. Multiple top-ranked boxing entities have come out sharing their surprise and excitement.

In a recent announcement, 32-year-old boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez has modified his opponent for the anticipated September 30 face-off in Las Vegas. The unified super middleweight champion will be facing off Jermell Charlo instead of Jermall Charlo, the undisputed super welterweight champion. This alteration reportedly came about after Jermall Charlo expressed the need for additional preparation time, given his two-year hiatus from the sport.
